Method first, pressure second
Old brick has a hard fired face, and once high pressure strips it the brick soaks up water for good. So every job starts with a test patch — you see the result, and we find the gentlest way to get it, before anything else is touched.

How we do it
- We look at the brick or stone, its age, and the pointing.
- A small test patch is cleaned so you can see the result.
- Growth is pre-treated where it has rooted into the surface.
- The wall is cleaned from the top down, at the pressure the test patch settled on.
Questions
Before you book
Will a jet wash mark older brick or painted render?
It can, which is why we match the pressure to the surface. Drives, patios, and block paving are jet washed at a pressure they can take; older brick, delicate stone, and painted render are cleaned far more gently, at a pressure that will not mark them.
Why a test patch?
Every wall is different. A test patch shows you the result before you commit, and tells us the gentlest method that will do the job.
Will it come back to its original colour?
Usually close to it. Some deep weathering and staining will fade rather than disappear — the test patch shows you what to expect.
What about stains and sealing?
That is restoration rather than cleaning — stain treatment, sealing, and re-laying loose paving. See Stone Restoration.
Regular visits, or one-off cleans?
Either. Every service can be booked as a regular round or as a single visit, whichever suits the house.
