A clean lifts the dirt. Restoration goes further — stains treated, loose slabs re-laid, and the stone sealed, so it comes back to sound, protected condition and stays there.

More than a clean
York stone patios, Portland steps, and period fronts wear in ways a wash cannot fix: stains that sit in the stone, slabs that rock underfoot, and surfaces that go green again within a season. Restoration deals with all three.
- Deep cleaning, with black spot and lichen treated at the root

How we do it
- We look over the stone and clean a test patch, including any stains.
- The surface is deep cleaned, with growth treated where it has rooted in.
- Stains are treated one type at a time, each tested first.
- Loose slabs are lifted and re-bedded, keeping the fall so water still runs off.
- Once the stone is dry, it is sealed with a breathable sealer.

Before you book
How is restoration different from a clean?
A clean removes dirt and growth. Restoration also treats the stains, fixes loose paving, and seals the stone — bringing it back to sound condition, not just a clean one.
Will every stain come out?
Most will. Some deep or very old stains fade rather than disappear, which is why stains are tested first — you will know what to expect before the job starts.
Why a breathable sealer?
Stone needs to let moisture out. A breathable sealer soaks into the stone and protects it from inside; a film on top can trap water and cloud or peel.
Do you restore brickwork too?
Yes — brick walls and fronts as well as natural stone.
How long does it last?
Sealed stone stays cleaner for longer, but shaded patios and north-facing walls will still need attention every few years.
Regular visits, or one-off cleans?
Either. Every service can be booked as a regular round or as a single visit, whichever suits the house.
